Sleep Therapy

Sleep can be impacted in our lives at different times and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia is the NHS and American College of Physicians recommended treatment for insomnia to help combat this.
It is a four-session structured model for short term and chronic insomnia, whether it stems from stressors at work to the perimenopause. It can improve the time taken to fall asleep, overall sleep and feeling rested the next day. Cognitive, behavioural and psychoeducation interventions are utilised alongside training you to utilise relaxation techniques.
It is recommended to undergo this treatment when you have a couple of weeks without travel or large changes to your normal schedule.
If you suspect you may also have Obstructive Sleep Apnoea please talk to your GP before starting treatment. Symptoms for sleep apnoea include: loud snoring, breathing stopping and starting, waking up a lot, gasping/snorting/choking noises. In the day you may also feel more tired, struggle to concentrate, have a headache when waking and experience mood swings.
